An estimated 18 migrant workers were killed and 10 were injured in a truck and bus collision in India.
According to the Barabanki police station, the collision was due to 140 people on the bus who were identified as laborers.
Police said the bus was stationed after it crashed on the national highway when it was suddenly hit by a speeding truck from the back, which resulted in the bus malfunctioning and running over the laborers who were sleeping on the road.
In this regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences to the bereaved families of the laborers killed in the incident and promised to provide 200,000 rupees or $ 2,686 as compensation for the families of the victims while 50,000 rupees for those injured in the incident.
