1st Pinay , won the 1st Olympics gold medal for PH Hidilyn Diaz

Zamboanga native weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz clinched the first-ever gold medal for the Philippines, from the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.
In his initial lifting, Diaz was a little hesitant so he tried to perfect his next lift, up to 127 kg.
Diaz surpassed the representatives of China and Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the Pinay weightlifter also won a silver medal in the last Rio Olympics in 2016.
Hidilyn was born on February 20, 1991 and grew up in Zamboanga, before competing in weightlifting events at the national and international level.
