1 in the LPA approaching PH, has become a typhoon; Batanes, signal no. 1 – PAGASA

One of the monitored low pressure areas (LPA) approaching the Philippines has become a typhoon.
In the latest bulletin of PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) at 5:00 Sunday afternoon, the center of Tropical Depression Emong was last spotted 780 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.
Typhoon Emong is moving at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour in a north northwest direction.
It has wind speeds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, PAGASA has raised signal No. 1 in Batanes, as well as part of Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands.
