Philippine Sports Commission chairman William “Butch†Ramirez expects a “return on investment†from the athletes, whom he described as “most prepared†and “strongestâ€Â, who will participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The PSC has already spent millions on the training and international campaigns of the majority of the 19 Filipinos who will represent the country at the Olympics over the past four years.
Ramirez stressed that from what he sees, the said athletes are the most prepared, since the 1924 Paris Olympic Games.
In 2021 alone, the PSC chief said, they have already spent P278-million for athletes, and for others who tried to qualify but did not win a slot in the Olympics.
