The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released an additional P451.32 million for the special risk allowance of healthcare workers.
According to the DBM, the funds will be used for eligible public and private healthcare workers (HCWs) who directly respond to COVID-19 patients from December 20, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
It was learned that of the said fund, P407.08 million was charged to the contingent fund while P44.23 million was charged to the Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Fund of the Fiscal Year 2021 General Appropriations Act.
In total, the DBM has released about P8.23 billion for the SRA payment of healthcare workers.
Of that amount, 499,116 healthcare workers have already received SRAs not to exceed P5,000 per month.
