Duterte to DOH: ‘Prioritize allowances for frontliners’

President Rodrigo Duterte has instructed the Department of Health (DOH) to prioritize the allowances and benefits of health workers.

This follows protests by some groups of health workers due to delayed payment to them.

In his talk to the people early Tuesday morning, he told the DOH to pay the frontliners when there is still enough money.

It will be recalled that some health workers from the public and private sectors have threatened to stage a protest action because they have not been paid their special risk allowance and the removal of their benefits such as meal and transportation allowance.
