After being spread on the first consecutive racks, Filipino billiard player Carlo Biado still did not give up to win the 2021 US Open Pool Championships.
Biado defeated Singaporean professional pool player Aloysius Yapp by a score of 13-8.
Biado still got a 3-1 early lead but Yapp regained it and posted an 8-3 lead.
Biado recovered on seven straight racks and recorded 10-8.
After that, Biado’s success continued and Yapp was buried in nine straight racks and recorded a 12-8 lead.
The 37-year-old La Union-born pool player has yet to leave the 13th rack and has finally clinched the title.
Biado impressed the audience after winning 10 straight racks.
If you remember, a Filipino last won the US Open Pool Championship in 2005 through Filipino-Canadian Alex Pagulayan.
But before that, in 1994, billiard legend Efren “Bata†Reyes won the championship in the tournament.
