Up to 7,878 COVID-19-positive samples have undergone sequencing by the Philippine Genome Center (PGC) and UP National Institutes Of Health (UP-NIH).
Of the said samples, 2,790 total variant cases were recorded based on the data of the PGC Biosurveillance Report as of July 4.
About 20 variant cases remain active.
