President Rodrigo Duterte has already received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Sinopharm.
In the photos posted on the Facebook account of Sen. Christopher Go, Health Sec. Francisco Duque III re -vaccinated President Duterte.
In his message to reporters, Presidential spokesman Harry Roque confirmed that the Chief Executive has been fully vaccinated.
“I confirm that PRRD had his second dose of Sinopharm tonight before his meeting with select members of the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases). Sec Duque administered the jab to the President, â€ÂRoque said.
It will be recalled that President Duterte’s first dose on May 3 became controversial because the Sinopharm vaccine has not yet been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
But after apologizing, President Duterte defended Sinopharm, saying that it had been given ‘compassionate use’ and that this was what his doctor recommended because of his age.
Last month, the FDA granted emergency use authorization to the Sinopharm vaccine.
