Olympics chief Thomas Bach praised Tokyo for its readiness as a host city.

Bach announced this in conjunction with the athletes ’entry into the Olympic Village, ten days before the opening ceremony.

Tokyo is currently under a coronavirus state of emergency, while spectators are prohibited from attending any Olympic events in the city and surrounding regions.

In this regard, International Olympic Committee President Bach told Tokyo 2020 chief Seiko Hashimoto that the organizers have made Tokyo the “best ever prepared city” for the Olympic Games.

It is learned that the two Olympic officials met at the beginning of the athletes ’entry into the Olympic Village, which opened on Tuesday despite the absence of welcome ceremonies or any media interviews.

Meanwhile, the organizers declined to specify which of the national teams have already entered the village, and how many athletes are in it.
