UN does not approve of child marriage practices in Zimbabwe

After the death of a 14-year-old girl in Zimababwe was reported due to childbirth, the United Nations condemned the wrong practice of child marriage in said country.
The incident was condemned by some citizens and rights activists.
This is allegedly because the Zimbabwean government allows an apostolic church to promote child marriage as well as ‘polygamy’.
In a statement the UN said they were deeply concerned about what was happening in the area and strongly condemned the girl’s death.
It is learned that a bill is currently pending in that country that aims to ban and punish anyone who marries under the age of 18.
