The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has already approved the application for amendment to the emergency use authorization of modern vaccines.

The vaccine is intended for use in young people aged 12 to 17 years.

According to FDA director general Undersecretary Eric Domingo, two weeks ago Moderna applied for an amendment to their EUA and after a thorough evaluation by the vaccine expert panel and regulatory experts, it was approved.

According to Domingo, the only thing that needs to be closely watched is the rare cases of Myocarditis in young people.

Meanwhile, in relation to the three batches of Moderna vaccines being investigated in Japan for their alleged mixed steel component, Domingo said that they were not included in those delivered to the country.

According to Domingo, based on their investigation, there are no findings that show that the Moderna vaccine batches obtained by the Philippines have an impact on the safety and effectiveness.

Domingo only advised vaccinators to check the vaccine vials carefully before injecting them into the public.
