Comelec extended the filing deadline for the transfer of overseas voter records

The Commission on Elections has extended the deadline for filing applications for the transfer of registration records from overseas to the Philippines until September 30 instead of August 31.
According to Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez, this will coincide with the deadline for local voter registration in the country.
Jimenez added that the deadline for the transfer of overseas voter records has been extended to prevent the disenfranchisement of Filipino voters abroad.
He said if a Filipino who has registered abroad happens to be in the Philippines on election day, he can vote.
