Additional support for Filipino athletes at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Sen. Bong Go

Filipino athletes who will compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan will receive an additional allowance.

This is what Sen. Christopher Go and said that the Office of the President granted the request of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) to give more allowance to Filipino Olympians.

“We thank the dear President, the Office of the President, for approving our appeal to increase the allowances of our athletes who will participate in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics,” said the chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports.

It was learned that Go recommended to Malacañang to give an additional P100,000 to the country’s athletes who will compete in the Olympics.

There are 19 Filipino Olympians who will compete in the Olympics which starts today and will last until September 8, in addition to the five Filipino Paralympians who qualified for the Paralympics from August 24 to September 5.

The senator added that he will ask President Duterte to increase the incentive given to Filipino Olympians who take home medals.
