DFA, opened an additional 177,500 passport appointment slots

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) opened five special off-site locations in the National Capital Region on Wednesday, July 7th.
It aims to provide an additional 177,500 passport appointment slots to the public in the NCR area.
According to Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Brigido Dulay, DFA Temporary Offsite Passport Services (TOPS) offices were opened at SM Mall of Asia, SM City North Edsa, SM Aura, Robinsons Place Las Piñas, and Robinsons Place Magnolia.
“The DFA is aware of the demand for passport appointment slots during the pandemic and so we prepared a temporary expansion of our consular operations in off-site locations to address this need while maintaining health and safety protocols,” said Dulay.
Appointment slots at the five TOPS can be accessed through the department’s online appointment system website at www.passport.gov.ph.
Each TOPS site has the capacity to receive 500 appointments per day and it is operational from Monday to Saturday.
Additional passport appointment slots will be open until the end of September in the DFA’s online appointment system, in addition to regular appointment slots at DFA ASEANA offices and consular offices nationwide.
Dulay also announced that TOPS offices will be open to Courtesy Lane clients such as OFWs with valid contracts, senior citizens, pregnant women, children aged seven and under, persons with disabilities, and solo parents.

The DFA said they will also open TOPS sites in other regions with high demand of passport appointments.
“We advise applicants to avoid falling prey to online fraudsters and scammers who are taking advantage of the situation by charging hefty fees,” Dulay said.
It clarified that passport appointment slots are free and only available on the official DFA website.
