Population of the Philippines, has hit more than 109-M

The population of the Philippines has reached more than 109 million by May 2020.
In Proclamation No. 1179 by President Rodrigo Duterte, stated that the total population in the country has reached 109,035,343 as of May 1, 2020, based on the census of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
It may be recalled that the President declared May 2020 as “National Census Month.”
But due to the pandemic, the conduct of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing was postponed in September 2020.
The Chief Executive signed the proclamation on Tuesday, July 6, but released a copy of it to the media on Wednesday, July 7.
