Mangliwan, disqualified from the men’s 400m T52 finals at the Tokyo Paralympics

Filipino wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan was disqualified in the final of the men’s 400 meters – T52 at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games on Friday held at the Olympic Stadium.
Mangliwan was able to finish with a time of 1: 00.80 in the finals, but it was not accepted by the officials due to lane infringement.
Under World Para Athletics rule 18.5a, participants are prohibited from exiting their lane.
The time recorded by Mangliwan was the fifth fastest in the tournament won by Sato Tomoki Sato of Japan who finished in 55.39 seconds.
Meanwhile, Mangliwan is expected to participate in the men’s 1500m T2 and men’s 100m T52.
