NCR, four provinces return GCQ; 5 year old children are not allowed to leave the house

President Rodrigo Duterte has already approved the Inter-Agency Task Force’s recommendation to place the National Capital Region and four other provinces under General Community Quarantine with heightened restrictions.

The government has tightened because of the threat of the Delta variant of COVID-19 as well.

According to Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, the new order will be implemented starting today, July 23 to July 31, 2021.

From the Modified General Community Quarantine, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte, Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte will also be placed in the GCQ with heightened restrictions.

Because the above-mentioned areas are in the GCQ with heightened restrictions, children aged five and above are not allowed to leave the house.

Meanwhile, all incoming international travelers are required to comply with quarantine protocols approved by the IATF.

The Bureau of Quarantine is required to identify close contacts of those who test positive for such disease.

“The IATF allowed foreign spouses, parent/s, and/or children of Filipino citizens with valid 9 (a) visas to enter the Philippines without the need of an entry exemption document beginning August 1, 2021,” Roque said.
